I dont think you understand my question. I searched and found that thread, not hard to do. However, it says nothing about cleaning up what is left behind AFTER the soundening is removed(which I have already done) except for bug/tar remover that FinalDrive mentioned. Yes I did search and removed it via dry ice. Ive searched for threads about the cleanup after the removal of the deadening, but could not find anything. SO my question is what is the BEST agen to remove the residue that was left behind AFTER the removal of the sound deadening.

well if you used dry ice initially then you can freeze it. Then hit it with a hammer and it will shatter like glass.

That usually cuts down on the residue.
If there is residue left over, then use a wire wheel on a angle grinder. Once you get all that wipe it down with acetone.

try looking for a sticker residue remover. PB blaster used to make a great one, but I think they have since discontinued it. Goo Gone, etc should still get it off. If not.. brake clean and elbow grease can usually get most things off.

FYI Making a thread about the closed thread doesn't help your case much. But you have your info now. Enjoy the stripped out car.

Use lacquer thinner and old terrycloth bath towels to remove the residue. The terrycloth towels trap the glue very well and the lacquer thinner cuts right through the tar residue. That's how I did mine and I didn't even have to re-paint it.

There was more than just that Thread.

Stripping out the sound proofing is nothing new. It has been covered many times.

In fact if you look at the bottom of the page of the other forum you linked to, there is at least one other Thread over there as well that explains it.

So AGAIN, I understand your question, but you continue to be too lazy to find the answer.

If you wish to contact me in the future, do it via PM. Making a thread with my name on it in Chat is, once again, USELESS.
