alright i did search and found out that 89 - 94 240sx clutch kits are exactly the same, but 89-90 and 91-94 have different release bearings correct?
because i traded my rc car for a exedy clutch kit that goes to an 91 but my car is an 90.. sooo... should i just buy a new release bearing? which will cost me around 20ish, and as for alignment tools.. would i be able to just buy something like this.... http://www.autopartswarehouse.com/search/?N=11363+1684+4294967008+6941
or do i need an exedy alignment tool?
heres some pics of the clutch kit to be sure it is a 240sx clutch kit

I believe all trannys were the same. You should be good.

well thats what i thought too until i started clutch shopping
89-90 is the same clutch kit part as a 95-96
91-94 is the same clutch kit part as the 96-97
i thought they would be universal, but apparently there is enough of a difference for clutch manufacturers (exedy, ACT, etc.)
to have different part #s for the 2 groups

so this clutch kit to a 91, will not go to my 90?... i tried to see if the release bearing would fit on the release bearing holder, but its to big.. so this mean i might as well sell this kit?

yes the all work on one another, i just installed a new exedy 4 puck for a s14 on my 92, the only differences are the throwout bearings, which they re designed. It's all the same transmission, don't sweat it

what about the sohc... i have a sohc trans and dohc trans both sitting here. they are both the same, but they have different size throw out bearings on them. oh and does anyone know where to buy just a throw out bearing alone?>

The clutch "kit" is different BECAUSE of the throwout bearing.
The clutch is the same, buy the TOB that matches the transmission you're using.
You can get the TOB at any parts shack (if you must) or $tealer$hip (unfortunately, I $ugge$t you go thi$ route)

As stated just get the new bearing and you are fine. And as for the alignment tool, you don't need an exedy specific one. It is the same as a dealer one.
