I took my valve cover off to install my Greddy RAS and after that (the car has been sitting for 7 months and I haven't started it once (winter time))

so I put it all back together and it has a really rough idle, had the shop time it to 12 for me and the vacuum stays at around 10... (According to my gauge)

I replaced all the hoses, made sure the intercooler piping was ALL tight, looks all good, and still the same thing... (It sounded like a supercharger, made more a hissing noise than a turbo spooling...)

Had that problem before, it was my BOV which was loose, but it's still tight...

Could it be that my BOV is bad and it causes a leak in the vacuum line?

When I rev her up, it doesn't sound normal (again, like a supercharger) but during regular driving, she runs great! Even better than last year (drained the oil, flushed the motor, put some royal purple in it this time) changed all the hoses for the vacuum, cleaned the maf sensor, (it DOES NOT run rich...)

I can't think of anything else... Other than my BOV... But when the boost kicks in the BOV works perfectly fine...

I was going to change my spark plugs but that won't affect the vacuum will it?

Nah I am having the same problem. My Vac is around 8 for some reason. The timing should be a 15* BDTC though.... Timing can affect vacuum levels as well. Ergh yah I have the same problem as well, but not too rough idle... YOu can't see it in the Tach but on an electronic rpm meter is jumps a little +-30

What boost monitoring system are you using?

Manual boost gauge? or Electronic?

iirc..Some EBC's monitor vacuum @ idle around 0-12psi.

Try checking your idle w/o your bov, and check the vacuum then.
If it idles from 18-21 then in it is most likely your BOV leaking vacuum.

Otherwise I'd say check for leaks. Soapy water and some carb cleaner testing ;)

I'm running an autometer phantom gauge, (for some weird problem, the guage goes SO slow, i'll be spooling the turbo and it'll slowly go from vacuum to turbo PSI... by the time i'm done kicking it, it won't even have reached the appropriate PSI)

Anyways, I changed my sparks, still no go...

I heard something weird today...

When I rev it, you hear the suction from the air intake really rough, and when the BOV goes off, the sound comes FROM the air intake and hardly any from the BOV...

I'm sure that my problem is either a bad air filter or a bad BOV...
