looking for a shop or someone who is familiar with the sr20det. the s13 dies when the brakes are pressed. also, the brake is now hard to press so the car doesn't stop well at all. tried bleeding the lines, but it didn't help. did a search and read it might either be a vacuum leak or the aiv might cause the car to die when braking during idle. any help is appreciated since i'm across the country . :2f2f:

your brake booster is shot. This would have nothing to do with your engine config if your using the 240sx brake booster/master. Sounds like the diaphram in the booster is split. When you push the pedal a huge vaccum leak occurs killing the engine. Replace the booster.

Call DA and get a quote from them.


I work at a Nissan dealer. Not sure if you would want to go that route. Depending on which brake system you have [abs or non-abs] an oem booster is ~650 w/ABS or ~460 w/o. Labor would be ~160.
