hey, just picked up a nearly complete ca swap for $300 only thing is it spun one rod bearing. It seemed like a great deal, all i have to do is replace a rod and machine the crank into spec. I'm thinking about dropping in all forged internals though while its all apart. I'm no engine building master, so i was fondering if a fsm for the pulsar would tell me all the specs and what not for tolerances and all that crap as far as bearings and rings and stuff. Seems like a daunting build but i just cleaned out my garage and my ka should last a while, so any advice is appreciated.

Also is there a video on building a ca? any advice or links are appreciated. Wish me luck!

well,it's a very easy engine to work on

rod & crank bearings>easy, just take care about the clearances

for forged parts, they're expensive,it become an old engine one,so it's difficult to find performance parts, but you still can find them

if you bought a ca18det with bearings out,be very careful, because the crankshaft is very fragile, and find one new,it's difficult

if you're gonna do the engine rebuild by yourself, take care with hoses under the intake manifold, and replace them,it happens that some of them crack

if you can put a DIY oil pan, because the oil capacity is very low(3.5l)it's better

if you have any questions,don't hesitate,ask me,i cannot count how ca18det i've rebuild ;)
