hey guys i'm having a bit of an issue right now. i just swapped an s13sr into my s14 with the nismo motor mounts. heres the problem, when i tried to bolt everything up for the tranny xmember, it comes about an inch short to line up with the bolt holes. did i put the motor mounts on the wrong side? i tried searching but couldnt find a definite answer. :goyou:

Your original s14 mounts wouldve worked great. Weird cuz mine bolted up perfect.

i dunno if the L and R are different on those
i got solid mounts and the stud is in the exact center of the mount
switch sides or flip them around

are you using an Auto or manual tranny crossmember?

Flip the tranny mount around. Motor mounts are identical left and right.
Just did this last week. The exhaust hanger part (with the rubber sticking out) faces towards the driver, the "wings" of the part that bolts to the car face backwards.

the nismo mounts are same L to R?
i tried rotating the xmember 180 degress, mounting it would be even harder that way from what i remember.
not really sure whats going on. i dunno if i want to rotate the motor mounts or what... this is frustrating.

You may have the mounts upside-down? I'll get a pic for you tomorrow of mine.

It may be what GSXRJJordan said, I know the stock and nismo mounts are offset so if you mounted them reversed or upside down it would move the engine forward. I made the same mistake on my last car and i just swapped the mounts left to right and the tranny mounted right up.
make sure the tab shown in this picture is at the top of the bolt (closest to the top of the slotted hole). If it is just swap the engine mounts left to right and that should fix your problem.

Tried switching around the mounts left to right and vice versa, it made it a little closer, but no go. Set the metal tab to the top of the slot, still no go. I can bolt up the 2 passenger side bolts for the xmember, but am about half an inch off for the driver side.

If you're that close, it's probably just your installation technique.
The tranny crossmember has 3 holes per side, the outer two are for bolts, the inner one is for you to stick a big screwdriver in to align the bolt holes. Put a jack under the tranny or crossmember, get it close (about 1" away), and use the screwdriver to align the crossmember until you can hand-thread the bolts (all 4).
