Ok.. The Dashboard Tachometer is off by a good 700 to 1000 RPMS.. I have this Brand New Autometer Tachometer that I am going to use. Now I followed the Instructions and set it up for 6 Cylinder .. Hooked everything up and Set the Max RPM. But it wont work. Like no RPM.. like its dead signal. So I hooked up my Multimeter to it and BAM! It shows the correct RPMs.. Friikin' Wierd!.. so I figured.. Maybe a bad tach. So I exchanged it.. Same shit.. Is there a way to Not use the Tach signal from the ECU? Like I know other cars you can use the Coil/Distributor or the ECU. Not to sure on a Coil Pack system... Also it's a RB20DET if that makes a Huge difference in Wiring.. I am using the #7 Pin on the ECU - yellow/Red Wire..

I have never gotten anything (remote stare, PFC) to read off the ECU RB wire.

by now you've probably popped your tach resistor in your ecu (pin 7). not the end of the world. if you use an safc2 to tune you can still get tach signal for that off either of the 120degree white wires on your ecu pinout. however DO NOT HOOK UP YOUR AUTOMETER TACH TO THESE OR PIN 7!

you need to buy an msd tach signal pickup (part # 8918) cost $30 from www.summitracing.com (http://www.summitracing.com)

after you've wired in the pickup's ignition power and ground, you will clip the pickup to the thick white wire that gives ignition 12volts to all of your coil packs. it will be on the 2 wire subharness that goes to your ignition coils right by where your ignitor is, you'll see it.

the last/third wire for the pickup (should be grey if memory serves) is the signal wire, you will connect that to the green tach signal wire that goes to your autometer tach, and voila
