I thought since the PS3 has been out for a while, that some good deals would pop up already, but it seems like its been maintaining its value. Is there any place offering good deals or packages for the ps3??? Thanks

PS3 HD is easy to replace without voiding warranty. Slides out like some of the new laptops. With a 250gb HD going for $100, it's not worth getting the bigger model always.

try like sams club or whatever you have by you, they usually rock a good priced bundle

Don't some of the higher capacity PS3's come with additional i/o ports?

like additional usb ports and extra hdmi out? etc etc.

imho that's worth it to me to save the extra hundred bucks for and still swap out the HD.

The 80gb has the card readers and PS2 compatibility, reads SACD, and has 4 usb ports instead of 2.

I'd spend the extra 100 just to have the PS2 compatibility. Then change the HD and be good.

I got the 80GB for the additional ports and PS2 compatibility (since I don't have a PS2).

The only good deals you'll find are on Craigslist

40GB can't play PS2 games, 80GB has issues with just a handful of PS2 games...but overall...it plays PS2 games

The PS3 has a wireless network adapter, as long as you have a router then you can easily link up the PS3 with the router and have internet access through the PS3.

20 and 60gb have the PS2 emotion chip in them. The 80gb has an emotion emulator. Both look like shit compared to the PS2 console.

my friend has the 80gb.. it has chrome trim.. my 40gb has a brushed silver look trim instead..

At least it has wifi im happy... the 20gb does not.

I was reading alot on the forums, alot of people suspect that MAYBE or HOPEFULLY later on, Sony would release a firmware with software support for the 40gb to play PS2 games. MAYBE if we complain enough..

PS3 are sold below what they cost to manufacture so you won't find any special deals on new ones.

Best bet is to find a used one.

As in, I would insert the game and nothing would happen, it would stay in that menu screen where i can choose to go online, change my user name, change settings etc. Luckily walmart has a sick ass no questions asked 90 day return policy as long as you have your receipt, I got another one and am currently playing GTA4, seems pretty cool. I wish I could get my hands on a brand new 80giger thou =\

If you go to the sonystyle store online and get a sonystyle car you can take $100 off a ps3. So you could get a 40 gig for 300 bucks.

I just Sony would put a damn IR sensor in it so I could use a Harmony remote with the damn thing.
