I hope this is the right section if not please move to section u feel it should be placed under...

Ok starting off my car has had an abnormally high idle at around 1500rpms
so i took a look at the fsm and tried what it told me to do to fix that problem i check the ecu mode#3 threw code 55 (no malfunction) so i
continue i disconnected the throttle sensor and adjust the idle screw it lowers to about 1100rpms then plug back in throttle sensor still quite high so i retard the timing until it idles at around 550-600 then i take it for a drive around the block timing is way to retarded lags like a mother...so i advance the timing to where the throttle feels right and i still get the power i had before (lack of a working timing light) so i drive it the rest of the day no problem the next day i take my my car out of the driveway and i push the clutch down to start it then as i release the clutch to backup the clutch engages super early :aw: i get it on the street pull the pedal with my foot then it works fine :ugh: while i was backing up it was sputtering every time i tap on the gas.

Im wondering if anyone has had the same problem or knows what might be wrong... any comments concerns or whatever your input is welcome

vacuum leaks sourcing behind the throttle body are high idle causes/ as well as bog issues because the air has already been measured by the maf.

get your ignition base timing set correctly. then continue identifying possible boost/vacuum leaks. as far as the clutch pedal, you may want to take a look at your clutch hydraulics and inspect for leaks/dampness

post back with what u find
