So, I'm getting insurance for my new 240sx. I phone them up and they start grilling me about if the car has any mods on it and even wether it has an aftermarket stereo system for christ sakes. They want to take pictures of the car for their files...so my question is... Seeing as how it's pretty much stock at this point, how in the f*#$ can I actually modify my car w/o voiding my insurance. Hell, I'm afraid if I even slap and aero kit on there and something happends I'm gonna be fucked.
Suggestions?
Comments?
please and thanks

that was sooo STUPID lol foreals..
They did that for my S14 but that's because I had it insured for appraised value. Other than that I don't see why they would need pics of the car.

Security National is the name of the insurance company. It doesn't make any sense. I don't even have collision for it and they want me to take it to get pictures taken.

Some companies wants to take pictures of cars so they can have an idea of the condition and get an idea of value of the car after an accident.

You can't. You change the car = you void the contract that was taken out on the original stock car = no coverage.

Agree. When i signed up for statefarm, they took a couple pics of my car to have records of the condition it was is in when i first joined them..Worked out for me when i crashed it though....
But like what other posters have said, shopping around is a good bet. Anywho, GL :bigok:

EDIT: I see it now.

The car also affects liability and comprehensive as well as other types of coverage. As far as insurance carriers are concerned, a stock car vs. an average car on Zilvia vs. a D1 car are all different cars even though they started out the same.
Make sense now?
