no spoilers other than it fucking sucks. lucas is like midas except instead of gold, everything he touches turns to shit. even the original trilogy was almost shit. yeah, the first two were bomb. but then in comes jedi with fucking muppets. if it wasn't for tying the story back to the first two, it would have been just fucking bear muppets dancing in a fucking forest. i can't believe that piece of shit made american graffiti.

i think because the term "the original trilogy" is ambiguous. it was meant to mean star wars, but could be interpreted as meaning indiana jones, so the change of subject is not easily detected.

I overheard that the reviews of the new indiana jones movie from Cannes was mediocre.

but yeah, I see him more as a business man than anything else. I don't take offense, b/c I don't have any expectations of him at all. besides, i don't think he was ever that spectacular as an artist. other directors of his generation (Scorcese, Coppola, etc) were far better and directed a lot more films.

Just by the trailer I could tell it's going to be another CGI cartoonish peice of shit just like the newer Star Wars movies. Lucas isn't a director as much as he's a buisness man. More power to him but I'm sick of all these CGI movies that come out that I could give a fuck about. The first Matrix is one of the only CGI flicks worth watching.

I didn't think it was possible to screw up the Indiana Jones equation for a cool movie. I knew something was up when Sean Connery wouldn't even sign on for a cameo appearance. I'll still see this obviously, but I will try not to set my expectations too high like I did when I saw the newer Star Wars movies.
