May be a repost if it is im sorry, how can i tell if a rearend has a factory lsd?, without tearing the cover off, and without it in a car, i found a junkyard that has 2 of them they are both 5 lug and look identical. i want one because i have four lug now, is there a visual way to tell? thanks

I think there is supposed to be an orange label/sticker on the outside of the cover.

ABS sensor in the snout. All US cars equipped with VLSD also have ABS. You knew that too.

Just spin one wheel or axle if both are free to rotate... the lsd should be harder to turn and the corresponding wheel/axle should rotate in the same direction, were as the open diff the wheel will rotate in the oppisite direction ,and it will be a lot easier to turn b/c you dont have the lsd assembly.

the snout is were the driveshaft bolts to and the abs senser usually will be on the passanger side of the diff.

Front portion of the diff. I have heard of ABS cars without VLSD, but I've never seen one and Nissan's literature never showed it as available.
