so i was thinking about getting a pignose lip from a friend and putting it on my car, i got it from him yesterday to just test fit and see how it looked but when i went to put it on and just see how it looked it seemed that it would not fit at all. ive been told a couple different things from different people. so i figured id get an opinion from you guys. i was told from one person that you have to modify the lip some to make it work but then someone else told me it fits on you just have to make it and go through trial and error, what are your thoughts?

Get rid of the metal support pieces if your lip still has them.
Use a ziptie at each of the sides, attaching to the fender.
drill 2 or 3 holes underneath, through the lip and the bumper to get a snug fit, and feed a ziptie through each hole.
DONE. easy as pie.
you aren't ever going to get absolutely perfect fitment, plus if you are low the thing is going to have to bend and flex... my lip scrapes everything everywhere, but if you snug the lip up against the bumper first, hold it in place and drill holes you can get it to sit pretty flush.
another tip, if you get a big gap/sag in the middle, i used 2 liter bottle caps at each fender to take up the slack and make the lip more taught.

i bolted about 8 nuts in the front for uber flushness

do you have to remove that small stock plastic lip off the very bottom of the chuki bumper before putting the pignose lip on?

I personally think they look bad on Chuki's. They always look like they are outta whack. The lines of the lip are all bent and skewed.
Why not just save for a Xenon lip?

Just man it up and streeeetch it on there.....the bumper and lip are both urethane so just....make it work....good luck! Mine used to fit like shit but I didn't care because I was too busy driving the car....it's not like you're gonna enter a car show with it...

This is one of the only lips that give the Chuki front end justice. I believe the pic is from a fellow member. Hope this helps.

Don't be lazy and use zipties. Too bad you're not in so-cal I anstall them with custom support brackets and all the original metal brackets so they are VERY strong for $100. Use 1/4" bolts with BIG washers to attach it to the bottom front of the bumper. If it still has the metal side brackets you can use them and bolt it to the bottom side of the front bumper and fender. The rear mounting point is tricky though. With MY lip it lines up pretty good on my silvia front, but the last one I installed has about a 1/4" gap there (I guess my lip is fucked up just right or something). Bolt the front in first, then the sides, then the rear last. Get a buddy to help you line it up and hold it while you drill the holes. It doesn't fit perfect no matter what you do, there will always be little gaps here and there, but you can make it look good and function better than stock. I have some pics of how mine fits in my vb pic gallery, but I don't have a good pic of the support brackets.
EDIT: I just noticed it is on a chuki bumper (oops) my mounting method will still work, but I'm not sure about the fitment.

using zipties isn't a matter of lazyness...
Having it mounted hardcore with bolts reduces the ability of the lip to flex/detach, which means that the lip will be destroyed sooner than later, that is if you are low.
The thing about having only 4 zipties holding it on is that when you hit a steep incline/speedbump/boot in the middle of the road, instead of the lip taking the impact without being able to flex, the zipties will just snap and the lip will just fall off, relatively unscathed.
my lip scrapes everywhere, and i think if it were mounted ridgidly it probably would be cracked to death by now. When i roll down my steep driveway, my lip folds under, the flexible mounting gives it the ability to do this.

A lip spoiler's primary purpose is to prevent air from going under the car therefore reducing the pressure under the car and creating downforce, not only a visual imporvement. A flexible lip will not work as efficiently for it's actual intended job, directing airflow. My lip has not cracked (anymore than it already was) being mounted like it is and I have gone over parking blocks with it and ripped the brackets off backing out several times.

i have the lip but on my pignose bumper. i would want it rigid or else it would flap around wherever i go. the lip takes a good beating and comes out without a problem so why not bolt it on there good. no use in letting the lip fall off cuz you will run it over anyways-which is worst

whatever dudes. whatever you think... the lip when ziptied on is not mounted so loose that it flaps in the wind.
spend 100 dollars to attach the lip with 29 bolts and specially designed metal brackets in conjunction with factory brackets making sure its most efficiently directing air flow for super downforce and super low aerodynamic coefficient. My name is Michael Schumacher and i'm attaching a 1989 strip of urethane to the front of my pure bred RACECAR YAYAYA
or use 4 zipties.
don't kid yourself, it's for looks.. and it looks pretty shitty at that.

i personally have this on my car as well and i love the look of it from the side and the front from a distance. because no matter what i do i can't get the gap to close in the front to be flush with the bumper. but other than that the lip was free, can't argue

how much lower does it make the front? cause right now im sitting pretty low on stance coilovers, there are deff NO speed bumps for me haha, i cant even pull in my driveway :-/

I'm sorry, but this is so true.
It looks like shit people. Attaching it with ZT's or screws or molecularly bonding the lip and the bumper together is all gonna look like shit in the end. It's not meant for that year.
I don't see a need to for this thread to continue.
OP. If you want a xenon lip do some research to find one. Search on here. Maybe post a WTB ad. Use google.
