Installing my friend's s13's motor, we finally got it running and no more oil leak and what not... But it runs like complete ASS. Long story short, everything seems good, brand new injectors, MSD blaster coil, new ignitor, plugs and wires and what not... So he's blowing SHIT TONS of smoke out of the header, and it smells HEAVY of fuel, its a whitish grey smoke (typically associated with oil or shit tons of unburned fuel), so I started unplugging the injectors and it still ran with all of them unplugged so I immediately told him to shut it off so I could contact you guys. What the FUCK would cause so much fuel to be thrown into the cylinders with the injectors unplugged?

i believe that means your distributor is bad...
and white smoke...thats not good either..it might be a head gasket..mine did that.
is this an sr or a KA?

Freshly rebuilt motor. Has like 10 mins run time on it. And the injectors are UNPLUGGED... meaning they're getting NO signal.

Check for injector leak.... Also is it upgraded injectors? If so you need a tune. Well you could damage the ring during installation as well.

injector o rings are pinched. Pull them out, put new ones in. Lube them up with some butter and twist the injector in and push in so they don't pinch.

Could the fuel rail itself possibly leak somewhere other than the rings on the injectors (the smaller rings)?

And Bardabe, I guess its a good thing we got a couple extra sets of rings lol.

I would suggst you remove the rail and put in the injectors with the rail off.... As per fsm. I didn't and it worked fine, but you really good lube those rings up well. Otherwise you are asking for it.

I called him, and when he gets home he's gonna replace the rings and lube them with oil and push them in very carefully. If it still doesn't work, we're gonna pull the rail when I get off work tomorrow.
