i used to have a bird like that, they live for a long period of time. i remember when our family got it like around 1992 i believe, and it died around 2002. i really don't remember but for sure it lived up to 10+ years. smart bird, like when my mom is down the street the bird will just go running to the window greeting my mom because it "senses" her. damn i miss that bird.

african grey parrots will live for 30-40 years. my stepfather had one until he flew off (we didn't keep his wings clipped)
