Hi guys,
Does anyone know what size bolt (and thread pitch) is used for the alternator tensioner ?
It appears mine is gone and my belt has some slack.
TIA

I was looking for a quick remedy and I know it will be cheaper too.

They're both M8x1.25 IIRC, but different lengths. I'd say the stop bolt is maybe 30mm long, while the adjuster bolt is easily 80-85mm long.
Do what I do, throw the tensioner away, then use a pry bar to tension the belt. You can then just use a bolt without anything else to secure it.

Thanks Russ...now I know the right terminology and the ideal size.
I vaguely get the pry bar idea...essentially I'm just pushing the alternator until the belt is tight and secure it with one bolt..right?

KAs like to vibrate, I've seen numerous tensioner bolts on both the alternator and power steering fall out of dozens of cars. At least this way you're eliminating that chance.
