hey i just went ka-t.. i had a shop do my install for me and when i went to pick up my car my mechanic told me that the bc cams i had installed a few months back open up a little too early for the turbo and the timing might be a little off. i need an ecu tune so he said he couldn't really check it out cause he didn't want to drive the car to hard, and it may be due to the fuel setup not being properly tuned, stupid greddy,lol so after i get my tune we will see.. but before i installed the kit i called brian crower and he said the cams will be fine cause they are street cams and are good for low to mid range power,even better for turbo. so just seeing if anyone has any input on this, any experience? i have the stage 2 cams 264/264.

How is he able to tell this without a Tune? Did he degree them?

he said they are opening too soon for the turbo?? sounds more like he didnt put the upper chain on right and misaligned the cams.

the cams were put in around august last year and they have been fine since. he put the cams in for me as well.. I just put the turbo in about 2 weeks ago. its the greddy kit and the emanage is tuned for an obd2 s14 and mines is obd1. so he said that I need to retune the emanage or get an ecu reflash, so I decided on option 2. most likely after that I should be good. he said thought the cams were n/a but I told him what crower said and he said after the tune we'll see. but I did hear that changing cams from n/a to turbo could have different affects that's really why I was asking..

264/264 is a balance set up. It will work with both. The KA likes a balance setup.

Did he degree the cams when he installed them?

yeah he did degree them.. cause when he first put them in the timing was off. the car would cut off at idle, thats how bad it was. so he degreed em and they were smooth after.. so I think it just needs the tune and all will be good. just wanted to know others with ka-t and bc cams experience.
