My goal is 400rwhp, what parts do I need to get. I will be doing the work myself, so that should keep the price down. thanks

turbo.

seriously Im assuming your going SR? CTC got 400hp out of their upgrade kit. a T3/T4 hybrid manifold and the appropriate fuel. thats about it. big boost big turbo. word is dont buy the kit. but all the components seperately it works out to be cheaper. I think enjuku is putting a kit out that should be good for about that. those would be your easiest ways. Or you can do all the bolt ons head work built bottom end but they arent neccesary. its all in your tuning

Can you be a little more specific, like the parts I will need. I already have the SR, It came w/ the car. thanx

like I said it depends on which way you wanna go.

CTC turbo kit
The turbo kit consists of the following parts:
CTC stainless steel equal length header
CTC T3/TO4S hybrid, 60-compressor wheel, w/ .63 A/R
Tial 40mm wastegate w/ .8bar spring
stainless dump tube for wastegate, vented to atmosphere
Oil feed and return lines, stainless braided hose with aeroquip fittings
3" air intake with couplers, clamps and air filter
Shorty downpipe with 2 o2 bungs welded in, and 3-bolt flange
Stainless braided hose for crank case, and K&N breather filter
Installation/break-in instructions, and guarantee information

or build your own kit. or do head work and/or bottom end work. on top of the above you need FUEL!! some 720cc injectors and either retune the ecu (JWT) go standalone or something like the Power FC. you'll probably need a Z32 MAFS

Yokota AB, just outside of Tokyo. Ok I would go w/ the custom setup:

T3/T04E hybrid turbo
50 trim compressor
.82 a/r turbine

720cc injectors

3inch intake tubing

FMIC

Rev-Hard manifold

Power FC

This is all I can think of, please let me know of anything else I will need. thanx again

In your case I would deffinatly go with an HKS GT3037. You can probably get em cheap where you are. Maybe even a 2835. I'm sure exhaust manny's are plentiful at your local tuning shop.

Two things:

1. Do your homework - no one likes the guy who shows up asking whether he should wipe back to front or front to back first.
2. Our solutions are not optimal for you b/c of your steering rack. Find a nice Ozzie site.

ka is totally the better engine but since I'm such a nice guy I'll sell you my ka for $2000 with only 79,000mi on it! hell, I'll even give you a couple hundred off if you sell me that old stock motor of yours.

Thinking about this post while brushing my teeth just now, I feel like we're probably giving the guy more trouble/attitude than we 'should' be.

Look at it this way:
a 400hp SR20DET in Japan is probably about as rare as a 210whp all-motor B18C or 175whp all-motor KA state side... That is to say, not particularly rare.
For him to be asking these questions is like asking how he can get 180hp on his KA. I don't mean to insult anyone, but I figure this is probably how it is out there.

I have to agree that we're probably not the bunch to come to for questions regarding how, exactly to get to 400whp though. FA may be a better resource if the technical (and critical) sides are all you're after.

well i was really just joking

the ka and the sr have potential

its two different ways(paths) to go about it. first do the major stuff like turbo and etc. then do the minor stuff and tuning. that will get you close to 400hp

Recipe for 400hp

HKS GT3037 or new HKS GT-PRO <- little better spool

Power FC or other engine managment unit.

full 3 inch exhaust

1.8 Bar of boost

Well, between Adey and Foxcolt, this post was answered. Everybody needs to lay off of new members, because their first couple posts and answers basically leaves the most important questions, and lets people know if Zilvia is a place they want to frequent or not. Nobody should flame a new member (this person lived in JAPAN, and a KA joke was made, and a lot of people jumped on the wagon. I would get irritated too.) I am locking this post.
