It's.been.a.while.since.i.started.working.on.my.ol d.s13.
If.i.can.recall...I.remember.Auto.ECU's.offer.some .advantages.like.no.speed.limiter.
Is.this.true?What.other.benefits.do.auto.ecu's.hav e?
Also.is.this.only.with.s14.auto.ecu's.or.s13s'?

No speed limiter. Nothing else is gained.

Honestly not much of a big difference.

A useless Mod unless its a track car

No need to drive that fast on the streets

its just the speed thing, and it can be way harder to set base timing and idle.

never really figured out why thought...

bottom line... its pointless unless your gonna chip it anyway

Really? I've always been told that it has a more aggresive timing map and a higher rev limit, along with the elimination of the speed limiter.

I'm not doubting you, Russ, I'm just curious. lol

I don't see why. The rev limiter is designed to avoid engine damage, either transmission option would still have the same redline. The timing map *could* be changed to take advantage of the different gear ratios with an automatic, giving a different curve per gear, but Nissan wouldn't go to the trouble of doing so. I'm sure a lot of people believe that based on how an auto car feels, there's no drop in throttle between gears so you're not losing torque like on a manual.

threw an auto ecu into my friends na ka. it honestly felt like it took away from the power band. granted there was no speed limiter, just felt like crap. not a bogging/ super crappy drive, just noticed that it didnt drive as well as it did with the mani ecu.
