ok swapped in DOHC engine into my 89 240 *yea i know my name says 180 give me time* but anyways to my questions i got engine in and everything needed for the dohc engine to be inside my 89 swapped power steering ignition coil yaadda yadda and now the only way my engine will start is if i give it gas.. now i have changed the fuel filter swapped in a 92 fuel pump lines are fine and i am getting about 50psi of pressure through the lines and the injectors are clicking but for some reason the only way it will start is if i give it gas... my friend just asked if i had slack in my throttle cable which i do still using 89 throttle works but there is a bit of slack could this be a problem any help would be appreciated

First off, have a bit of patience. (At least with me.) <img src="http://www.zilvia.net/f/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':)'>
Go ahead and get a DOHC throttle cable. They are different lengths, and they can affect drivability. That may not be your problem, however.
Just try that first and see what happens.

Man, a few months ago I was messing with my throttle body and I tried to take out as much slack as I could, but not make it too tight. Well, one of the bolts came loose just as I was pulling out of my house and coming to a stop sign at the end of my road, and the bolt caught the throttle body and kept my engine running at like 3500 rpms and I have an automatic. I about couldn't get it to stop and almost ran into a car. Next time I am making sure I don't over tighten the bolts.
