A teacher of mine told me my car was running unbelievably rich, I told him it was normal for SR's (I'm running an S14 SR). Just today I was bored and recently became unemployed so I decided to check out the plugs, when I took off the coil pack cover I noticed that one of the bolts was broken off inside the valve cover, I got it out pretty easily but I was wondering if anyone knows the part number for the bolt or if there is any problems I could run into from leaving it unbolted. Also noticed one of the bolts for the valve cover was missing so if anyone could give me the part number for that too, it would be great. Thanks in advance! :rawk:

uh...hate to tell yah...SRs dont normally run rich...if ur motor is running rich...u have a problem with ur MAF or FPR..might wanna start figuring out whats causing ur rich problem
if there was a snapped bolt from the coilpack in the valve cover...its because someone over torqued it and it snapped off in your valve cover...i wouldnt recommend leaving your coilovers unbolted as you can get water into the spark plug chamber and cause problems with your coilpack
dont bother with a part number...just find a bolt thats long enough and has the correct thread pattern (i did that for my motor...it was missing a coilpack bolt for a while...found one in my bolts drawer...works fine)

well actually... an SR with all the emissions equipment taken off, will run a little rich... not stupid pig rich, but a little.

Yeah, they might not run rich normally, but most people run an atmospheric BOV set-up and don't do anything to compensate for it. I'm guessing that's where he's getting his thought process from.

Yeah I'd say it's running just a tad rich, just smells like its running hella rich because I just have a test pipe but I'm pretty sure if I threw the cat back on it would be fine. Anyways thanks guys. The plugs where fine btw, I actually think I might be running lean at times, plugs where kind of grey =\.
Anybody have any information on the valve cover bolts?

your engine should not run that rich due to no EGR Emission stuff or Atmos. BOV.
Im also running a test pipe and a Atmos. BOV my SR runs as if it came factory in the car,
Probably is time to clean that MAF, get a new O2 sensor and do a tune up with the correct gapping of the plugs and check your timing.
Coil pack Bolt just get a long 10 mil.
as for your Valve cover stud

What do you mean by no EGR emission stuff, I know what an EGR is but i'm not sure what your trying to say, also the plugs where all fine,as far as being dry, it is time for some new ones though. They were actually kinda gray which is something I'm starting to worry about.
