Vlsd

I had the back of my car up today while i was bleeding my brake lines and wondered if I have a VLSD or not. While in park (yeah i know auto 240 sucks) I spun 1 wheel and the other spun in the opposite direction. i believe that's what a VLSD should do. Then i put it in N,D,2,and 1 and the other wheel didn't spin when I spun one. Do I have a VLSD?

w/ LSD, both wheels should spin in the same direction if you move one wheels.

aw man, i saw 240sxtech and they said something about if they spin in oppsite directions u have a vlsd. if i put the car up and put it in drive would that tell me if i have an open cuz i wanna be sure

Adrians_S13 is correct you have an Open Diff.
Also if you had a VLSD there would be an orange sticker on the (mainly) upper left side of the diff cover

The car must be in neutral and both wheels spin together if its a VLSD.

Both open diff and VLSD in gear will turn one wheel in opposite direction, however the VLSD will give more resistance than the open diff when doing this.

yes and the driveshaft will rotate as well...

mine doesnt have a sticker but its a 5 bolt and they spin the same way. you have a open diff my friend. i dont think thats the 1st of your worries. your also auto.
