Just wondering if there is any differences on torque between the s13 and s14? I'm asking because I've driven both cars and I noticed on torque the s14 response faster than s13.:)

If it was the SR with an S14 SR then yeah, but if it was just KA's then no unless one was a single cam. But even then there isn't that much difference to notice.

Stock singlecams are generally super sluggish, the dual cams not so much. It probably felt better for 2 reasons:
1: YOU expected it to feel better
2: The s-14 KA had less miles and was most likely better maintained.
From the factory the 2 motors are pretty much exactly the same output wise.

Sorry, It is KA I was asking about. So, all the DE's motors are the same compression ratio from 92 to 98? I asked several people about this, and told me different answers. They told me the 93 has 9.5 compression ratio and 96 has 9.8 compression ratio.Just want to know what is the right one. Thanks guys....

the reason why it might hav felt slugish more on the s13 is that normaly those cars, being a bit older, motor mounts are usally toast, and alot of other suspension components too. all these things factor into the tq being put down to the ground. were as the s14 things are still newer and more then likey going to be able to transfer the power better.

the s14 has a 4:10 gears in the rear a little better ratio that the s13 so that may be the reason for the notice in difference but they are the same as far as the motor goes
just so u guys know i didn't say this....but thanks for the Negative rep

i'd relate 50% to the age of the motors (s13 being older thus most likely slower) and 50% to your head (you prolly thought newer car=more power so felt the difference there) when really both cars probably perform very much alike because their both over 10yrs old and both crummy stock KA's

s14s have 4.08 rear ends.

Cams and butterfly's.
Don't forget the s14's more aggressive ECU.

Yeah i totally had one punch me in the eye for looking at him.
S14 KAs have more mild cams, which will give better low end torque all other things equal(and they pretty much are).

Both S13/S14 have 4.08 final drive gears, and both have 9.5 compression. The S13 have more aggressive cams and the car is lighter than the S14 so its probably just do to the S13 being old and sensors and or timing not correct or some things out of spec, makes a huge difference the little things.

Please don't talk out of your ass. All 240SX models have a 4.08:1 ratio.

4.083 final drive on all stock USDM 240s AFAIK.
They do sell ring and pinion kits so who knows.
Although on my dyno run, I thought I had a T5 with 1.1 4th gear and 4.083 rear, but the computer told me that I had a 4.1 effective ratio. Either my T5 has a 1.0 4th gear or I have a 3.7 ring/pinion. I highly doubt I have a 3.7 rear end so probably someone at the junkyard stiffed me with a different T5 than what I thought I was getting. I guess I'll find out when I swap out for 4.636 rear.

I think he has a chevy v-8. If it is on a KA I want more info on the swap and what advantages it has.
