Any bicyclists out there?

As you know, gas prices are pretty ridiculous at the moment and they're expected to go even higher this summer. So I've been thinking, I have a mountain bike just rotting away in my garage, my milkshake brings the boys to the yards but I should probably get rid of that for my health, and my commute is pretty close.

So my question is, what's the best slick tire you can get for a mountain bike for the least amount of money? My knobbies slow me down a lot when I ride so I want some slicks. Also, will I need new tubes if I run skinnier slicks?

Oh and I found some cheap slicks on ebay but they're no name brands. And Xenith 1.5's are like 50 dollars for a set... anyone know of anything cheaper?

I ride bmx for fun...not soo much to get from point A to point B.

You need to buy tubes sized for your tire you run and the rim you are running them on.

i ride bmx.. like crazy haha, but as far as mountain biking im not sure, depends on the "knobbies" you get cause some are for serious offroad and others are just normal mountain bike tires which shouldnt be hard to ride with at all. You should have a local bike shop around you so just pop in with the bike and anyone can help you
