So here is the update. My dad and I have been talking and we predominately want this car for something that looks smooth, handles awesome [ god bless 240s J ]. I went out to the local Acura dealer today and one of the dealers let me go peep the RSX Type-S. This was before I got to read most of your posts mind you, but I absolutely agree with a lot of your points. The more I look at it, the more I relies why I wanted the 240sx so much. Here are the pro’s and cons I found…

RSX Type – S
[[ Pro
.:: 200 hp stock J
.:: Nice warranty that AF wont effect.
.:: 0 Miles

[[ Cons
.:: Kinda clunky
.:: … Alright, Really big.
.:: Front driven or however you say it.

Here is what I was wondering though. The more I think about it. The more I want something that I can be proud of. Granted, a brand spanking new RSX Type-S would turn heads at school, but I’m sure in three or four years everyone under the sun is going to trick them out just like they do with Honda Civic SI’s. I want to be original and why not with the car I fell in love with? My brother-in-law has an S-14 from 97. He loves it for it’s perfect sound staging (not to mention the great place to hide the 10inchs ) I love it for being so low to the ground, the rwdrive and super easy to drift like a mug ;] .)

But… how hard would it be to find my dream S-14? I want to get a 97-98 with low miles like 30 or less, but realistically speaking that’s like finding a needle and a haystack. I found a 240 base model with only 20k not to long ago that was a stick… but it didn’t have ABS which my dad hated, and it had obviously been wrecked even if carfax said otherwise.

If you guys were in my shoes what would you do? I don’t know how in the world to get my dream car because it seems to so out of reach. I wanted something that was different. Discontinued. Low miles… How would you all persuade it to your parents?

Finding a 97-98 s14a is kinda of difficult...at least it took me 6 months to find the right one for me. I had the opprotunity to buy several others, including a 00 eclipse gt, 99 t/a, but my mind was set on the 240. Convincing your dad is something that's really up to you...you know your dad, we don't. You could say that you can find a 240 with abs, limited slip, standard airbags, and a nice high crash rating, but you know what your dad is wanting to hear, not us. If you are looking for facts, we got tons of info. on here, just start shooting the questions....someone knows if not all of us.

I know I left your question kinda of left for discussion....it's on purpose....trust me.

Fair enough... How did you (or others) go about finding one in good condition? I dont know how I'm going to do it to be honest, but some suggestions would be really really nice.

OH MAN....car-hunting.....

It took me forever to find one in good conditon. I bought my 95 (i know its not a s14a but a good condition s14 is hard to find period) 3 months ago. It took months of research and looking at 240's (online and in person) to find the right one. The best bet is Autotrader.com and Cars.com. I found my car on Cars.com at a local dealer. It is in xcel. cond. I was real lucky...

BUT GOOD LUCK with the HUNT
