I've never seen a thread on watches so I figured I'd post for those who are into this kinda stuff. I never really liked watches until I started learning how amazing crafted automatic mechanical watches are: i.e. Rolex, Omega, Doxa, Tag Heuer, etc.

The watch below is really what got me excited about these things:

Maybe this will inspire you:

Driver inspired Tag Heuer watches (Formula 1, McLaren, Carrera)

What are your favorites? And on a personal note, anyone know of a watch that has similar styling/taste as the Tag Heuer Calibre 36 RS Concept? (Of course, much simpler and CHEAPER).

I'm not really into watches but when I saw this, http://www.geekologie.com/2008/04/digital_looking_watch_is_all_a.php
I was blown away, I really want it but I'm guessing it costs a pretty penny after visiting the site.

right now the only watch i rock is a g shock

eventually i'm going to get myself a nice watch, but something plain. chrono watches are nice but scream douchebag.

not all chronometer watch owners are douchebags, but all douchebags wear chronometer watches.

however, i can appreciate the quality of those watches, i suppose.

i had a tag heuer once, long story short it was a gift from an individual whom i detest...sold it to buy crap for my car if i remember correctly...

Oh, for what it's worth, there is a 4-page thread on watches, but mostly Fossil and stuff. Not a ton of mechanical watches. So, let's try to keep this one focused on mechanical pieces.

Yeah, there was a "nice watch" thread.

And yes, it was mostly quartz crap, aside from the wacky complications I posted on the last page.

I have a Seiko Kinetic...have worn it daily for close to 5 years, with nothing other than a few scratched on the face. It's awesome, beefy.

Looks like:

Cost around $400, and was well worth it.

This is the only watch I have (Pulsar PF3684). I'm not really a watch person but if I had more money to throw around, I'd probably be a little more into them. This was a gift. I don't wear it much unless I'm going out because I use my cell phone for checking the time.
