Quick question on serial numbers

Sorry, did a quick search couldn't find what I needed.

I was wondering what the serial number on a SR20 would look like?

Ie. the serial number for the motor.

Where is it located?

How many digits?
An example of a serial number?

not shure but i think its near the back next to the tranny.

on the exhaust side hard to see i think.

My motor was stolen, now it has been found in another vehicle and I need proof that the motor is mine.

I have a reciept and there is a 8 digit number on the reciept, i'm praying that this is the serial number.

I took high resolution pics of my motor befor I hadit installed, when I get home I will look at them and tell you also if I don't post back PM me, I have been forgetting to do things lately

sorry dude thats really shitty.

there should be a small machined surface about 2x2 inch right past the #4 exh, its on the block not the head. I have a KA and mine is KAxxxxx, but its really hard to read

under where is say SR20 under the #4 exhaust cylinder on the engine bell housing area there should be another stamped number under it

hopefully that will match your number
