hey guys, i need some help. i was driving my 240sx with sr20 last night and it was kinda cold out ... so i stepped on it and it revved up then the BOV went off and the idle went down to 500rpm ... and it kept making a PUTT PUTT PUTT noise out of the exhaust and the lights and everything kept flickering ... i was like 500 ft from my house so i drove it home going 1500 rpm becos it would not go any higher even if i stepped on it ... i opened the hood and saw a little bit of steam/smoke ...
what could be wrong ? thanks

From my post on FA <img src="http://www.zilvia.net/f/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/hmmm.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':hmmm:'> :
Ummm...there are so many possibilities right now, it's impossible to tell. Do a little diagnosis then tell us more. Could be MAFS, overheating, fried wiring, bad plug for MAFS, bad ground, bad ignition parts, intake pipint leak, etc. You need to help us before we can help you.

10 bux says you blew off an intercooler pipe. Either that or one got disconected.
The steam is coming from the Radiator hose in the back of the motor that you didn't tighted properly.

Hahahah! Jed rules. Yeah, I'm thinking it's an IC pipe, or a leaky BOV, or a disconnected MAFS plug. And yeah, that coolant hose idea is probably right too...or maybe a loose clamp on one of the front hoses that's allowing it to leak out on the alternator or the back of the radiator. So many things to check.
