I need to find a CD, or something. I NEED it.

There was a Symphony/Orchestra that re-did a few Metallica songs or maybe even an entire albums worth. Its amazing, so soothing to listen to.

I am NOT talking about S&M, although that was amazing, and one of my favorite album sets as well.

The stuff i am talking about is strictly a musical symphony/orchestra, no vocals or guitar or anything.

If you need to hear what i am talking about, watch this video, it in itself is amazing as well.

http://youtube.com/watch?v=ZTcRbx4lMgw

But go to the 5:58 mark, and the song "Nothing Else Matters" by Metallica is done in an entire string arrangement, and its beautiful.

Can anyone link me to copys of this music, a place to download or purchase it, or even any info at all that could lead me to obtaining it?

Apocalyptica is a four-cello band that replays a lot of their songs. They're probably what you heard maybe?

Yep! Through some searching i found they did a couple albums with metallica covers, and an entire album dedicated to Metallica. I must download it now.

Yes, they were in a contemporary music class in Helsinki, and decided they wanted to try for something harder.

The BF and I were supposed to catch them a few weeks ago, but we didn't get to go... They were at the Roxy....

Their new album is supposed to be out this month sometime. Allegedly it has guitar solos and is played in standard (E) Tuning. I read its supposed to be the missing link between And Justice for All.... and the Black Album.. I'm not holding my breath.

Want to hear some creepy metallica covers? Check out "Fade to Bluegrass"; covers played blue-grass style, and the way they sing some of the songs is nuts.

I saw them in, like...2004? The tickets were $70 and we were in the very, very back. Like, there were no seats in the coliseum that were further away. We were leaning against the wall. And since it was a Metallica concert, every old burnt-out redneck wannabe rocker in Hampton Roads was there sweating and smoking and yelling. And there was 0 ventilation. And they played Master of Puppets way too fast. And they didn't play Whiskey in the Jar. Or King Nothing. And they played way too much St. Anger crap.

But, overall, I like 'em. :D

I saw them in 2003 or 2004, they played a good mix overall.. mostly black album and older. I think Fuel was the only load-era song they played, and acouple tunes off of St Anger.. which are alot better live. I was a little disappointed because the crowed wasnt into it as much as I was.. I guess they wanted to hear post black album crap or something. Godsmack played with them, they were cool live even though I dont care too much for them. The singer from godsmack said something about pantera, for a second I thought maybe they'd come out.. at which point I would have gone ballistic and started moshing people.. but they were broken up at the time anyway.. that was a fun night now that I think about it.

I have no respect for Metallica as people.
They are too lawsuit happy.
Back in the day, they sued the wheel company I work for, for a having a wheel called "Metallic."

I would build a time machine just to travel back to 1983 to see them perform when they were still bad ass and not depressed, crying, napster suing old men.

KILL 'EM ALL......

I'm a huge Metallica Fan. Last time I had a chance to see them, and I did, was last time Summer Sanatarium Tour came through Florida back 6-7 years ago. With Linkin Park, Limp Bizkit, and somebody else I didn't like.

I'm actually very fond of the Garage Inc. Album set and their pre-black album stuff. I've heard rumors of another album, getting back to the roots of the black album. So I'm anxious. Even though I doubtfut it will ever come out.
