wassup zilvia,
recently aquired an rb20det s13 coupe and just started really daily driving it after my s14 ka-t went boom.
PROBLEM: some times it starts, but for the most part i have to turn the ignition and gas it at the same time for it to crank. And then when it does crank and it barely idles then cuts. The fascinating thing is that right b4 it cuts you can catch it from dying by keeping it revved at 900-1k rpm, and its drivable when you run it through the gears but when at a stop, and idling it would start to die again, and then i would have to keep it revved again.
any help is appreciated!

So you are saying it wont start unless you hold the throttle open, and dies at idle?
Check for leaks in your fuel line, and/or adjust idle speed. Probably want to check for clogged fuel lines too.

Injectors might be clogged. Injector cleaner? Z32 fuel filter installed? Check the resistance on them too.

I bet your IACV or fast idle valve isn't hooked up. Also there is a wire, I think pin #43? That is a cold start wire (which goes to the IAV iirc) that needs to be hooked up. Check that stuff out... BTW there's lots of good RB info & help on the NICO RB board (http://forums.nicoclub.com/zeroforum?id=135) if you're not already over there.

yes to your 1st question,
im also thinking this has to be fuel related.

alotta good info there, so your thinking b/c this valve isn't hooked it would cause these kind of symtoms?

Did you contact the seller to ask if this was ever an issue? He may have some insight to guide you.

Yeah, seems like some guys don't hook it up for whatever reason. That valve works like a choke and gives the engine air to start with while the TB plate is shut. Which is what you're doing with the throttle anyways... That's not normal to hold the throttle open on a EFI car.
Could be a variety of things though, I'd download the FSM (click link in my sig) and reset the base timing, idle speed, reset the ECU and double check all the connections to make sure everything is hooked up. Stop by the RB forum over on that other board if u need some more help there are some knowledgeable ppl there to help you help yourself =]
