Deanza College' "DUEL AT DEANZA" 2008!

DeAnza Colleges' Auto Club (which im a part of) will be hosting their annual "Duel at DeAnza" Autocross this Sunday. Sign ups to enter are done but its free to watch.

Where: Deanza College Parking lot C (you cant miss it)

When: Sunday May 18th 2008

Time: 8am-3/4pm

Hope to see some of you there! (ill most likely be wearing a huge sombrero until yelled at to take it off hahaha!)

I remember when they canceled the event because the parking lot was being redone and repaved. Rumors were that De Anza didn't want to "ruin" the new parking lot.

This event is also ran by Norcal UFO. I didn't sign up cause saving up for track day, but they have it every year. It was up last year too!

nice event guys, i showed up kinda late, around 2 or so, that yellow bimmer was pretty f-in sick, that was fun to watch, i looked around the parking lot for some other 240 peeps, and found a few, but you guys were kinda scattered...

same here i worked the tech inspections in the morining and none of the 240s were sent to my lane....except a black zenki s14 with red bride seats....really nice looking. i also saw a few s13s such as a gunmetal coupe with matching wheels, champagne stock coupe, a red coupe with black wheels, a maroon s14 that stayed til the end, and a green s14 with a white front.....really good turn out this year....too bad i dont have pics..

hahahaha ya i typed that so early in the morning i just re-read it. ya i actually tech inspected your car and talked to you a little about it. really super clean. what did you run? i missed it working the staging line with the track map and was focused on making sure people watched the flagman.

I ran a 52.1, placed 3rd in D Street Prepared. Mr. Brandt ran out of the 3rd place trophies, so he said he was going to mail it to me. I used to do all the things you've done at the autocross, because I used to go through the auto tech program from 2001-2004. It's a lot of work I know. There was one year (I believe it was at the 2002 event) where it POURED down rain, and we all had to work in it. So thanks for working the event! It seemed like it went really smoothly.

ya i started school at deanza in 02 and heard about that day also,..this is my 2nd year in the program and it seemed that everything did go well bc we actually finished up an hour earlier than last year. congrats on third!

it was my first autocross event. didnt do so well tho...=\ i purposely came a little late so i could watch other cars run before my turn but even though at least 50 other cars teched before me they placed me in the second line to run. the first car went out at 9:00 and i was up at 9:15. the event was still fun and served as good experience.

yeah i kept looking back to see if the driver would go to his or her car to say wsup. unfortunately it didn't happen. i think i went back to move my car over to tech before you did. but anyways clean car, hope to see you around. i'll give you a heads up if my friends and i plan to roll out together and chill.

haha ya youre gunmetal s13 looked really clean too. i remember trying to get rid of the car we were teching so you would go into the lane i was working but a couple guys in my group were slow as f**K.

seems like it was a nice event... wished my 86 was ready for this event... the s13 coupe just isnt gunna cut it for me haha
