View Full Version : downward tip exhaust for S Chassis?

Do you guys know what I'm talking about? The "GT style" (i have NO idea what to call it) exhausts that have a downward curve at the tip instead of the upward N1 angle. I've been wondering how that would look on our S chassis, haven't seen one on any seeing how the upward angle has hit a new level or popularity with the boso look... (no comment on that seeing as how it's so practical for daily) . . . although it may be fun for awhile just acting a fool . . . i digress

i think i've seen it on the gt civics. . . i think . . . im just sick of grabbing cop attention with blingy n1 canister and exhaust muck tainting my pearl white rear bumper

kind of like this. . . some have the more multi piece welded look

http://www.jtuned.com/media/gallery%2Farticles%2FHonda%20Civic%20EK%20KJ%2F007 .jpg

so yeah, any company even make these? has anyone seen or have it on their S chassis?

an exhaust tip that bends down is used by Toda on their exhausts systems.

http://todaracing.com/category?id=14

they are for honda engines though.

I have heard that it is much louder to have your exhaust pointed at the ground.

and I think it looks like a limp d*ck personally. but if thats what your saying?.......lol

Just buy an exhaust that points up and flip it over?? pretty simple for a shop to do. and not a prob at all if you just have the canister and not any connected pipe.

find a damaged toda exhaust (there's plenty cuz they are used for racing alot and cut off the muffler) Mate muffler to custom piping and weld on hangars at the desired mounting angle.

= exhaust u want.

Also shouldn't u be working at the bank!

Custom piping + muff. Realistically, its just a tip you could get it welded like that. It has a different sound to it. I like it. I'll get a pic of his car for you.

as for lsd, hmmmmmmmmm i do need to look around for a new one, but it's in no critical condition it'll do for now

It's actually the opposite. One reason to do is to reduce noise out put. You can go the extra step to make the turn downs point toward the passenger side of the car and down to reduce noise even more (to the driver anyway, obviously it would sound the same outside the car if it was pointed down or down and right).

I don't know why but I think turndowns suit small NA cars more than our type of car

at first i thought these were pretty retarded looking too but then . . . time passed, and lo and behold i kinda like it . . .

maybe it's just cuz all i see now are n1 style . . . a lot of them being fugly and cheap looking

It can look good depending on the car.

S chassis = NO

kenshinS14sks

if it looks good on an fd why not? if the s chassis had a rear under spoiler / diffuser, then i think it may look great

I was actually thinking of doing this a few months back. I think it looks rad on the RE Amemiya rotards.... But id get custom piping to have it kind of angled a bit up and to the side, THEN the canister...dunno, hard to explain, maybe ill do it. More pics though.

given the right piping and right bumper i think this would look bad ass on an s14 . . .

Problem with S chassis is that the muffler goes at an upward angle after the subframe, and the way these look halfway good is if the muffler is kinda tucked up, and the tip is curving down past the body.

Not really possible on an S chassis normally.

Enh. That's not something I dig. Limp dick is a pretty accurate description.

I think it would work with a race style rear diffuser, a la URAS though.
