Codemasters is well known for its racing games and I find DiRT to be quite enjoyable. So today, I happen to spot a new game they are working on called GRID and the demo is currently available on PS3 (i guess 360 too?) and its quite enjoyable.

It's not mind blowing physics or graphics compared to GT5 prologue, but its still quite enjoyable and challenging (from what i see in this demo). I'm usually not a fan of drifting in video games, but I like GRID's take on it. I even like the replays. :P

I can not wait for this game, i been waiting for a while now and it was pushed back because they wanted to work on the crash physics more, the replays look like a trailer there are so amazing and i can not begin to express how happy am i at the demo, i usually just play racing games to drift, such as forza/pro street but i actually didnt mind racing in the demo, in fact it was more enjoyable then i thought, my only hope is for the final version to have a way to incorporate the clutch with the g25 wheel

There is a way to change it so that understeer is on.

You have to turn off stability control.

Don't know if you already tried that, but it makes a helluva difference.

I agree, but i doubt the game is meant to be realistic. i like the points, it gives me some sort of satisfaction like how i enjoyed arcade mode in cod4. i had a lot more fun killing enemies when i see +10 or +100 pop up, hahahahaha.

totally agree with you, GT3 is the BEST if you want to drift, i tried drifting on GT4 and it was alllll BAD. hopefully GT5 will be better. anyway back on the topic, i downloaded the grid demo for the xbox, and i'll have to say it's OKAY, i go through the corners to easily, drifting is a pretty fun but it got old, so i'll say it's not a game i'll buy; kids might enjoy it though.

i think its an okay game..more arcade than simulator. drifting is pretty fun, but only on manual though..its easier to control the car than on automatic.

does anyone know if this will have car customization? the game looks good visually and is pretty fun, so customization is make or break..

i finally got it to work on my PC...apparently it wont start on systems with like 2gigs of ram and are running windows 64 bit..had to dl a patch thingy.

Actually the best game for drifting isn't even a drifting game, Live For Speed (look it up). No real cars yet (has a car similar to a Silvia ) but great physics .

picked up the game on the first day available and i gotta say i enjoy the racing more then i thought i would. you really get the feeling that you are pushing the cars to their limits. the career mode is great and you dont get tired of doing always teh same style racing.


just wish there were more demolition tracks but oh well game is GREAT!

besides, tracking a street production car doesnt get very far in progressing into a racing career

The dust has not even settled on the whole pro/contra Race Driver GRID battle and still Codemasters’ is already releasing the first patch for their recently released game.

Sadly, the patch won’t be including any physic-related fixes but plenty of other changes. The patch is expected to be released in June, the full list of changes can be found by clicking “Read More” below.
