I know this probably wont get anyones attention here but I decided to list it anyways.
I recently bought this beautiful '88 MR2 off of my brother because he was in a little financial trouble and had a company car anyways. I had really great plans for this car, but like my brother I have run into an issue where I need some money. Unlike him though, I’ve got plenty of time (i.e. no lowball). So onto the car:
I honestly don’t know too much about the history of this car but its fantastic condition reflects that it was very well taken care of and someone loved it. The pictures really don’t do the car justice. It has 157xxx miles on it has it sits and runs very well. I drive it about 20 miles a day, and the gas mileage is great. Except for the little hesitation that any car this old has when its starts in really cold weather I can think of nothing wrong with it. No smoke, no bad noises, and it sounds nice all through the power band.
Some of the information I do know is the car was repainted about 2 years ago. The car was factory blue, and I believe it have been repainted the factory color because the door jams, trunk lid, hinges, etc all match. Really nice paint. From what I was told it was a few thousand-dolor job. There is no paint runs, no over spray, all of the trim is original and none of it touched by the paint. Let the pictures show. The only flaw is the paint has chipped away a little on the front lip because of the carelessness of my brother’s girlfriend. It really shouldn’t be an expensive fix, and you can see the problem in the pictures.
The interior of the car isn’t AS nice as the exterior, but it still reflects that it was taken care of. Definitely as nice as a car of this age can be. The only thing that every bothered me was it could use a nicer shift boot, and new floor mats (there are none). The seats are flawless, the dash is clean, but has one little crack at the a/c vent by the windshield. Everything works inside but there seems to be an issue with the passenger side window. It is slow to roll down and can only be rolled up with the passenger side switch. The good news is that the AC still blows ice cold, so I don’t even bother using the windows anyways.
So I think I have talked enough about the cars basic condition. The only other things I think need to be mentioned are the car has a set of lowering springs, front cross drilled rotors covered by a set of 15 inch LorBer wheels, wrapped in 195/50R15 BF Goodrich G-Force sport s tires on all four corners. It has an adjustable front strut (brand I do not know), includes racing pedals and the momo shift knob. DOES NOT INCLUDE the steering wheel. I will be adding a stock steering wheel.
