I'm pretty bored at work, so I've been reading up on 2jz swaps into s14's.

So, from what I understand in order to properly swap a 2jz into an S14 chassis. One would need a 2jz (obviously) a 1jz bellhousing and an r154 Trans out of a soarer and a drive shaft of sufficient length. Does the stock rear end have any issues w/ 4-500HP?

I've read that some folks send the harnesses out to be put together, are they that different/complex or what?

Other than custom exhaust/ic piping is there any other major component that I'm over-looking?

To answer your rear end question, the stock rear end can handle that amount of power. If it's a dd the rear end will have no problems. If you are going to do launches on the track, I would invest in stronger axles.

$1500 for a swap kit isn't too bad really. Consider you would need a good welder (easy 1k right there), steel stock, mounts, a plasma cutter or a hacksaw (expensive and fast or cheap and slow)to cut the subframe with, and a huge amount of time to get the engine low and back enough to fit, while still locating the transmission in the right spot, while still having the whole shebang at the right angle.

Sure, they could have included a few other parts in the kit but this is all you would need to get the engine to sit right.

Thats basically it. The mounts, wiring and driveshaft. Everything else is minor.
I plan on eventually doing this when i get the funds.
