First Post And I need Lots of Help.
I have a Redtop SR, with a HKS intake, HKS Downpipe, and Apexi N1 Duals. I installed a Greddy Profec B and Walbro fuel pump. The only problem I had was that it would not boost right, I had the boost controller turned all the way up, and it would only go up to 10psi. I thought it was only a Actuator problem. My car NOW, will only run right when its cold. After it warms up, it wont rev past 4-5K and has a VERY LOUD and VERY RICH backfire. Then the limit starts to climb down, Not revving past 3-4K then Anything over 2K. Eventually, it will barely idle properly. Giving it throttle will either make no difference or make it struggle and backfire.

I was told it might be a Coolant Temp. Sensor, Making computer think its cold, so its runs more fuel(cold start mode) But i ran the car with the CTS off, and still had the same problem. I did the same with the O2 sensor.  I made a IC/piping pressure tester, and didnt hear any leaks(besides, it runs fine all the way up to redline when cold). I thought it might be a MAF sensor, but i have no other SR maf to test it.
I put in new plugs and a new Fuel filter.
Can a Dohc KA Coolant Temp. Sensor Work?
Is there a way a KA Maf can be wired up?
Could it be my fuel pump making the engine run too rich? I have heard by many that itll run fine with the pump in.

Thanks Guys, ANY help would be greatly appreciated.

hey man i would say go out to a local auto shop and pick up a timing gun.  Maybe your timing is out of wack

Thanks. But I doubt the timing is off.
IT runs fine until warmed up. And it ran fine for months after it was swapped, until just recently.
Can the timing just go out of whack this much?
It doesnt soudn like a timing problem to me though.
More of a sensor malfunction...?
Only thing is, i Have no idea where to start.

i dont know why ud want a KA MAFS they are as big as a midgets fist. but u can use that, or u can use almost any mafs. im pretty sure they all have the same generic wire combination

No you can't use any mafs unless you retune the ECU.

Unfotunatly I can't comment on your problem. Just didn't want you to cause more problems for yourself by trying to wire up the KA mafs.

Try tightning the plug on the ECU. That's been known to cause all kinds of weird problems. If that doesn't work then check the wiring of the mafs. Unwrap the whole thing and make sure there are no open wires. Actually now that I think about it that might be your problem. Once the ECU runs in to open loop it relies on the mafs.

Mafs rarley ever go bad. It's always the wiring for em.

G'luck!
