I did a search and didn't see too much on this.

Has anyone experimented with fan placement and if so what were the results. I know a guy that has a 12" fan on the right rear of his intercooler and a 12'" fan on the left front of his radiator and he said he had no problems with overheating. Plus he has extra space in his engine bay. Anybody else do anything with their electric fans beside two behind the rad? I HATE overheating and want the best placement possible.

BTW I have a T3/T4 KA-T with an aftermarket RB26 alum radiator and a 12" fan. I'm gonna buy another fan but don't know what size. I was thinking of moving the 12" to the rear of the intercooler and putting a 14" (or two 12"s, probably overkill) on the rear of the rad.

What's good help me out.

Dual 12inch pullers... Mount both of them to the radiator on engine side so that when they kick ON, they suck air from OUTSIDE and blow it toward the motor... Pullers work the best.
I have a buddy with dual 14's and they overlap the stock ka radiator... looks gay if u ask me, but he likes it. I have dual 12's that match perfectly on the stock ka radiator..
With dual 12's u wont overheat, even with the A/C on.
Oh and one more thing, if ur gonna run 2 fans... Run each one on its OWN relay and fuse. So 2 fans = 2 relays and 2 fuses. Do it right the 1st time... Especially if they are FAL fans.. those sob's move air and the same time PULL some mad amperage..!!

yeah i have dual 12" puller fans on my Mishimoto radiator (engine side) and i have no problems whatsoever. i'd invest in a Nismo thermostat too, if you dont already have one. i noticed a BIG difference between that and the stock shitty thermo

Good to know, I had headgasket issues with my last car due to overheating and I don't want to repeat.

This was a cheap fan setup, but it worked for me!

I used 2 AC fans, which are pretty damn strong for AC fans, and wired one to come on on ACC/ignition, and the second on a switch, both facing the engine, mounted to my Koyo, pushing into the engine. Consistent temps.

This isn't a good idea. You're prolonging warmup and making the engine susceptible to damage.

It's better to let the engine come up to temp before kicking in the fan.

Thats what a thermostat is for

At best, his setup is wasteful since no coolant is circulating with a closed thermostat.

Also, just because the thermostat is open doesn't mean you need the fans to turn.

i use altima fans that i got at the junkyard for 20 bucks. i wired them into the stock relays with a fuse on each individual fan and they work great.

just get a ford taurus fan
they pull to much air
low speed is more then enough at 2500 cfm
high speed is 3800 cfm
they almost bolt on
high speed takes alot of amps though but it will cool down your car in no time

What temps do u guys see at idle and hwy and at what outside air temp..??

Mine at idle see's 170F and on the hwy i see 205-210F with 95 deg outside temps. ive got Dual 12 inch FAL wired to adj therm set to kick on at 180...
