I was tightening my screw on my coil pack and wasn't paying attention and i overtightened it causing the screw to snap. Is there an easy way to take out the imbedded screw and where would I find a replacement?

i was thinking more along the lines of an adhesive since it's not lodged in firmly, just loosely. and would u happen to know where i can get a replacement screw?

How big is the screw, you could always drill off the head

It's no big deal. I've got a broken one as well.
It seems pretty common:

same with stuff on the long block 10s always brake for cam caps. 10 breaks for the chain tensioner and the threads get gayed up and same with the rear main seal.

small chisel and hammer.... i did the same thing as long as it aint cross threaded it should come right out... if not you need a regular drill bit and a left handed drill bit.... (aka easy out)

yes, the worst thing that could happen would be that the coil pack wiggles loose and you start missing on the cylinder.

or just dremel a slit in the top, and use a flathead.

okay sweet. the screw is lodged too far into the valve cover to dremel. but i just bought an easy out a few hours ago so all i gotta do is borrow a drill from a friend. thanks guys.

This is what was happening with my car when I had a broken coil pack bolt. You want that coil pack bolted down, or at least held in some way (someone in the other thread suggested a quick fix of sticking bottlecaps underneath the coil pack cover to press the packs down). You can drive on 3 cylinders, but you obviously don't want to. My car would usually run fine, but would periodically start BLATting like a WRX and lose power.
It's easy to drill out, took me ~10 minutes.
Also, 10mm? My coil packs are all held in by 6mm allen screws...

Huh?
That's weird. I know the valve cover bolts are allen screws.........

I'm pretty certain I have 6mm allen screws holding my coil packs in...
Shit, now I'm doubting myself.
Allen screws for valve cover bolts? Do you mean coil pack cover?

Nah it's just too many goddamn covers to keep track of :(

EXACTLY. I broke one of these weaksauce little bolts last year. Just removed it with a little flat blade screwdriver and a mallet. Then proceeded to drive all summer without a new bolt.
