I agree with Dousan....you can make Balcony as technical as you want. There's a few lines through there that you really need to work hard to dial in. For instance...hit back turn 2nd gear, dori to clip rear bumper on keyhole upshift to 3rd and start into the sweeper. Coming into the grid in 3rd gear from the bullring is INSANE also! Just for Men approved.

lol i got a cage in my S13 but every time im there with it no is there to tandom with ... my consistency has improved so much with my S13 and my AE86 there i feel like its a waist of tires .... i guess its the hole 2 laps and a 10 min wait after that just shuts me off

thats why i wait till days end to drive most
non stop lappiing almost!!

long ass ebrae slides in the back side by side

have to havefun
hit most angle u can on entry
transition fast

or hold it deep and transition late
work on gliding against the wall (hay bales)
ride edge of track
ride inside of track

u can test a lot of stuff on the car
make it a mini comp for yousrelf

thats how you'll be able tplace your car ANYWHERE u want when u drive at other tracks

because if u fuck up at balcony..maybe a busted 1/4panel on the haybales???

and its grat place to work tandem like i said
me and flybert practice there a lot
and igot a ton of time w/ BH there too
fun as hell.

depends how you look at it

make th most of every track day.

Yea Balcony is the ultimate training/practice/tandem/gangstur line/fun course, lots of formula d guys practice on it too so dont think there isnt stuff to learn from it. The question is will you be able to learn from all it has to offer? Aaron gave me a taste of tandem there last event, and that taste was sweet. Time to appease the sweet tooth, more tandem action!!!

Werd. Remember this. Half the fun is the skidpad and the other half is the back turn. Most people that complain about balcony don't know how to rule the back turn or don't drift it at all. If you plan on getting crazy on the back turn, bring an extra set of tires.

Example. Pic of dousan and I having the time of our lives in the back turn on the round 2 flyer. Same style = greatest pic ever.

You Go Girls

lol... drifters wearing thongs now?

balcony is so technical if you know how to use it.. not even funny! go blast the front straight top 3rd with 2 swings. manly ebrake and drop kick to 2nd and up shift to 3rd.. clip it and swing it early transition. cause the only way to clear that transition early is to get on the gas and lock up for a quick sec. oh wait, don't forget to get back on the gas to get grip and pull you back in. otherwise we'd be rearranging haybales after that. you gotta think outside the box! see you guys there...

Every single time I drive Balcony, I learn something new, or learn how to do something better.

I just laugh when people say that this is a stupid track.

get real.

oh no, not directed at you.

tight ... but i will give it another try with my S13 though and maybe try some things that Mr. Aaron has shoved in my face :faint: cuz the AE86 just doesnt have enough power to trie diff lines ... i get lucky if i get enough speed at entry just to clear the loop lol

Dousan_PG
05-08-2008, 03:56 PM
nah u can try different stuff
i drove my friends SOHC w/ full interior aruond teh track and its still fun as hell
just more challenging!
but its stil radical
ive driven BH's pos 3cylinder DOHC around w/ a front bumper under the car and it was the most fun i ever had there.

even oru friends from Japan drove our cars and had fun there (minus the heat)

depends how u look at it?

low power? drift like Lance K in the corolla and you'll be drifitng like a luntatic w/ fast and crazy entries and stuff.

power only affects you if u look at it 'i have no power' type of person

u can do it.

thats why its not worth doing

Crono562
05-15-2008, 05:48 PM
Yes beginners are welcome Saturday!

Yes your car is always gonna get hot doing donuts cuz your not really moving so your not getting an air flow to match the high rpms

Flybert
05-15-2008, 05:52 PM
Yeah, lay off the donuts especially now that the weather is warm. Your car will be better off if you just try and drift the main turn.
