that's far from being a 1 series on steroids.

m1 would be more of an r8 competitor if it came out

its pretty damn sexy if you ask me, the dip at the top of the hood/fender looks a little too much but maybe its just the angle

reading through the comments, im pretty sure it is just a rendering since the background was taken from this picture and flipped.

:werd: The door part where it comes in at the top where the window is. That's where it looks funny. It doesn't quite connect right.

Edit: unless that's a vent for the mid-engine

people need to know that the present day 1 series has nothing to do with anything along the lines of "M1".

Just in case anyone else missed it.

M1 =/= 1 Series
(this is the reason they want to revive the tii version, because the 1 Series couldn't possibly take the M1's name)

Has anyone seen the real one that BMW actually built very recently (like a couple of weeks ago.)?
The white one is a fake.
Here's the real M1 concept.

i saw it and did not like, but then again it is just a concept

They need to hire the guy that photoshopped the white one to be on the bmw design team.

I second that. The white one has the image of a true fantasy car, like the Testarossa did in the 80's. I think, if made it would be the best looking exotic car in production.

TheWolf

(this is the reason they want to revive the tii version

To those of us who own 2002's and 2002tii's... 1 series cars are like inbred step children from the wicked witch.. we wish the court would send them back to federline for good instead of letting them visit.

2002's and tii's were about light weight, simple functional cars that had great visibility and not alot of tech crap. More like what lotus is today. A double vanos twin turbo'd 3400lb car isn't any of that. BMW needs to organize their numbers and the world doesn't need another m1. If it doesn't evoke lines from the old one.. it won't draw people into the dealership..

kingkilburn

The car doesn't have to be a visual rehash the bare the name. I think it would be more important that it does have the M1 name for recognition.

It is the same with Toyota's new halo car. For easy recognition it gets call the new supra. We know it isn't going to be supra but we know what that name means to us and we want more.
