I am selling a 1993 Touring RX-7 with a 2004 Zo6 Corvette LS6 engine, single turbo. The car was tuned at Dyno Lab and is currently at 455rwhp on 5lbs of boost but dropping to 3psi. The chassis has 80,000 miles on it, engine has 17,000 miles on it, and the tranny has 83,000 miles on it. I am the third owner of this car, carfax is clean with a minor fender bender years ago. I purchased this car in Ohio two years ago if I can remember right. Before I bought the car it had sat outside for five years so the car will need a paint job; the car will also need the brakes replaced. A list is below of everything that will come with the car including the condition of the parts.
The condition of the car overall is ok-good, I would venture to say… just due to the paint that it needs, new pass side interior handle, and brakes. The wheels and tires are less than a year old and are in great shape, only have 1000 miles on them if that. The body kit is brand new, never installed and is the full kit. Basically, all the car needs is the kit fitted and the car painted then the car would be great.
Issues with the car would be the tranny kicking out of reverse and the clutch getting soft if you really get on the car and shift between some of the gears, it may just need to be bled correctly and that issue may be gone. Also, you need to get a better radiator fan, the one I have is an autozone fan and its junk…I couldn’t use the Taraus fan like I had before. The car will slowly increase in temperature if u are driving in the city, no issues on the highway though.
Now on to the turbo kit, it was fabbed up by me. All the under-the-hood mandrel bends are stainless steel and welded with stainless steel wire. The welding job is decent I would say, just because I used a mig welder and not a tig. The welds are not pretty but they are functional, no issues yet. The manifolds and crossover pipes are all wrapped in the exhaust heat wrap to lessen the heat under the hood. The turbo has a turbo blanket over it too. The turbo is a Precision SC67 which was new when I bought it, no issues with it at all. The wastegate it a Turbonetics Newgen which is overkill…but I wanted it. The dump pipe is routed back into the dp so it’s not loud and annoying. There is also a cutout equipped on the car and it’s basically right behind the pass side wheel. It helps the turbo spool and gives it a decent amt of horsepower too.
The reason I am selling is due to me buying a house and needing the extra cash for it. I want to get 22,000 for everything listed above. If you do not want the wheels and or body kit then take off a thousand for each. So basically 20,000, 21,000, or 22,000….also, I am very firm on my price because it is low. I do not want to split up anything either……..car sold as is too. I am located in Atlanta, Ga.
I would also be interested in some trades + cash equivalents on… Other rx-7’s, 240’s with swaps, possibly bikes, BMW’s, G35s, 350z’s, s2000’s
