I was searching yesterday happened to stumble upon a junkyard with an S13 with some HICAS suspension components.  I e-mailed the place asking if the rear differential was intact and asking how much for the LSD.  Here is the response i got...

"Morgan, If you just need the carrier assy ( center assy with gears) I have that one here in stock
from a 1991 fastback car with 4 wheel steering with 4,000 miles for $400.00. shipping to Columbus is $75.00 to your local frieght terminal."

now i know this has extremely low miles and all but i recall seeing the pumpkin with the gears going for around $250 or so shipped, everywhere else &nbsp;<img src="http://www.zilvia.net/f/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/confused.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt='???'> &nbsp;i'm thinking maybe he's including the halfshafts as well but it still seems very high, what do you guys think? any online stores that sell used VLSDs for less? &nbsp; How flexible are junkyards when it comes to price? &nbsp; Thanks

junkyards are like used cars salesmen, they'll try and rape you if they can.

you gotta know what you want to pay and when to walk. finding a good deal takes time. offer him 200 for it maybe stop at 300 if you feel that's fair. you have to negotiate too. like buying a car, only an idoit pays the sticker price (depending on the car of course)

just make sure you get the full pumpking w/ the side shafts (output shafts) in it still. just so you take out your old one put this one in and done in a coupe hours.

just talk him down.. he set that price.. he'll move lower.. i say dont go higher than $300 although it may be worth it with the mileage being soo low. also check out Don @pdm (http://www.pdm-racing.com) he may have some pumkins in stock
