Hey guys, i tried searching
Just wondering: If i swap a stock dual cam into a zenki s13, will it still pass smog even though its a different engine?

Yes. As long as the engine you are swapping in is the year of the car or newer, has ALL the applicable smog equipment for that motor installed, and every part on the engine exhaust and intake is either stock for that motor or CARB approved for that motor then the swap is perfectly legal. As far as I know this applies to ANY engine form any manufacturer. If you wanna be thorough go to a smog ref and get it signed off, but if all you wanna do is swap a dual cam KA into a single cam car then I wouldn't bother. Actually I DIDN'T bother because my fastback is an '89 and has a '92 twin cam in it.

Wait... so does this mean as long as the engine is the same year or newer, I can put any smog legal engine into it? I'm confused. Sorry.

As far as I know yes. I would love to try to do a smog legal VQ or LS-1 swap.

thats crazy, all this time i was thinking that if i did a vh45 swap into my z32 it would never pass smog with out bribing.
