anyone dealt with them?
i ran out of gas yesterday on the freeway. 101 southbound. i call up ayuaddict and he was about to head over to give me some gas. a tow truck comes up behind me and asks me if im alright. i told them my friend was coming to get me back on the road. he handed me a survey and told me it was optional and that he will give me a gallon of gas for free just so i can get going. nice guy
i never even heard of these guys. apparently they work during the day driving up and down freeways to help people. their brochure says that if they cant get your car up and running, they'll tow it to the nearest chp office for free. kinda cool i guess?

Yup.
This service has been around for a while now I think.
If you need a tow, they'll tow you off the freeway at the nearest exit where you can call a tow truck.
Basically they just want to get people off the freeway so that their not endangered and there's not abandon cars along the sides of the freeway.
They'll change your flat too.
My uncle's friend works in that program.

yeah probably a good thing...I always hear stories about ppl getting out of their cars and then getting nailed when they are trying to fix a flat or something

this past xmas season, a chp helped me out.
i didn't know my s14's alternator was out and it died out on the ramp from the 710N to the 405N. those of you from long beach know this ramp. it connects the 405N to the 710N also.
well, my car started sputtering as i'm rounding the ramp to get onto the 405 and dies. i coasted to a stop right where cars were trying to get onto the 710. some cars almost hit me and there were also cars behind me trying to get onto the 405. luckily for me a chp (who was wearing a santa hat btw) came to my rescue and pushed my car with his battering ram to the santa fe exit. he even tried to jump start my car with my cables but the battery wouldn't even hold charge for long. i ended up just callin a tow truck.
it was def crazy going 60 with my car not running and a cop giving me a push on the back bumper.

my buddy's s14 broke 4 studs on his right rear hub and i went out there to replace his studs on the ramp of 680 to 101 southbound.

we have similar roadside assistance trucks that cruise up and down the highways. they'll jump you, give you free gas, and/or take a look to see if they can figure out what's going on.
