Who is using a BM44 master cyl with Z32 brakes?

Is anyone using a bm44 with their z32 brake setup? I just installed my z32 brake setup, front and rear, and bm44 master cyl. I bled the system, I am positive there is no air in there at all. The pedal feels kinda spongy at first, but if I pump it once or twice, it firms up. Do I need to run a larger mc? Or is this just how it's supposed to feel? I have all new stainless lines, all calipers are rebuilt so I know there is no issue there. Anyone with some insight to this please help.

well if your SURE there is no air in the lines and all the lines are SS, then it sounds like you are not moving enough fluid.

why didnt you just use a 1-1/16 BMC?

maybe your master cylinder has air in it. did you prime it before you installed it?

Yeah, I bench bled the master cyl. I'm not using a larger mc because I was having a hard time finding any because I need one from a RHD car like a jdm z32 or skyline, to fit on my 180sx, because the lines come out of the other side and won't clear the strut tower.

bummer for you. finding parts must be a biatch. but the bm44 should be enough. i'm using the stock 7/8 on my q45 upgrade and the pistons are bigger than those of the z32 but there are 4 instead of 2 per caliper. the pedal is a bit mushy but still very usable with the stock master cylinder. i have a bm44 that i'm going to install myself and i figure that only pushing a few more smaller cylinders that it would be enough since those cylinders dont need as much volume to push them. Thats just my reasoning. the piston's total surface area i believe is greater on the q45 than that of the z32. correct me if i'm wrong.
