Yesterday I went to Home Depot to buy some stuff for the house, and as im coming out and reach for my keys... i notice they'r not there. I say to my friend "damn dude, i think i left my keys inside the car," and in fact when we come up to the car i look in, and the keys are in the ignition. So i start lookin around, thinkin of a way to get, since thats my only key, my friend says "It sounds like ur car is running man," and yes, in fact i left it running... at least i didnt leave it unlocked, somebody could have taken the car So i went back to Home Depot and bought a long flat rod, the ones they use to make wire fences. I push it in, thru the corner of the window and push the door lock switch and unlock the door.

After kickin my self in the ass for lockin in the keys with the car running and spendin $2 for a steel rod, i start thinkin... Its a good thing i have frameless windows, if i didnt i wouldnt have been able to get in... wait a minute, so its that easy to break into my car? Next money i get, im buyin a siren for my alarm!

edit: oh yeah, now i keep the rod in trunk, for special occations

I know what you mean, I can say that the frameless windows have saved me at least a dozen times (I kind of have a habbit of locking my keys in my car) but at the same time, it does kind of make me nervous about my audio stuff, especially in the DC area where I am. An alarm is a must (as soon as I can get some $$

So you have an alarm without a siren? What kinda alarm is that? But in all seriousness, go get a decent alarm system. Also, GO MAKE A COPY OF YOUR KEY. I just recently did the same, but it was my alarms fault. Well anyway, the car was still run'n and my friend took me back home to get my SPARE key. OR I was going to call AAA to come and unlock the sucker.

Even if you have the rod in the trunk, how you gonna get to it if you lock yourself out again? hmmm

Yeah. If you locked your keys in the car, and can't get in... how are you gonna get the rod out of your trunk?
I guess you could tape the rod down in a frame rail or something. Or just get a spare key for your wallet.

Only reason I posted here was cuz my English Comp course was cancelled today cuz my professor locked his keys in his car, along with our couse material, and papers we were supposed to recieve. LOL!

Too bad I keep my wallet in my car (or should I say my parents car ). I keep my wallet on me at all times, except school, stupid thieves breaking lockers and stealing stuff

No, you're the dumb ass for making a post like that, locking your keys in your car is a mistake, and its reasonable. I'm not saying do it everyday, but if it happens its not a big deal. That was seriously a stupid remark. "Oh, and your 18" enkei's on your car for sale are gross." See how stupid that is?

You left your car running, while it was locked.

Well the good thing is that your car wasn't stolen and you got into it.

But the bad thing is now people can know how to jack a 240.

This post reminds me of the time that my friends El Camino had a dead battery. Myself, him and one of my other friends went to go jump start his car. We get everything setup, he gets in his car, starts it up, gets out, closes the door and disconnects the battery cables. Then he walks back over to his door to find out that he, being a DUMBASS, locked the door to his car . So now his car was sitting, running in front of his place and he did not have any spare keys to get either into the car or into his house. Well in my trunk, for I have no idea what reason, I actually had 2 spare metal coat hangers. We rigged those as lock picks and were inside in his car in the next few minutes. It was great. To this day, I don't remember ever putting those metal coat hangers into my trunk, but he was damn happy that I did haha.
