Alignment from hell

I took my car to this guy across the street to get an alignment [he owns a shop], and I get it back both wheels rubbing the coil overs, bad.

And the best part, I pull out on the street and the car starts pulling hard rights on me worse than before. Fuck yeah.

Better yet, he took my bottom air foil under the engine off, and put it back on by two bolts.

I took it back and the guy had nothing but excuses. Fuck this shit, already paid the man and everything. Some things I just hate about this state.

He better get it right this time....

I thought an alignment was supposed to make your car go straight and fix problems?



And when you adjust camber plates, shouldn't their settings be symmetric????

On the camber plates, not necessarily. If everything on the car is EXACTLY perfect, symmetric, then yes.

Odds are, things could be just a tiny bit different on the different sides of the car.

In the end, all that matters is the camber angle relative to the road, not which setting the camber plate is at.

^ as above, generally they will adjust camber slightly more one side to allow for the curvature of the road if it is a road car. otherwise it will be going 'straight' but pulling into the gutter cause the road tapers that way for water run-off

^ While what you said is correct (cross-caster), I was saying that it's possible for the frame or other things to cause the car to not be perfectly symmetric.

In other words, even if you were shooting for the same camber on both sides, the camber plates may not be at the exact same spot.

i keep hearing bad stories about people with upgraded susp, and alignments. kinda sucks imo.

might want to look into a safety and prep shop. We have a few of these here so I'm sure there is one somewhere near you
