Hi,
All my lights were working fine yesterday afternoon, but last night when i drove it around, none of my turn lights worked.

My blinkers didnt go on either direction, and neither did my hazards. I found out that if i put my hazards on then hit the left or right turn signal, my hazards go on.. The hazards will only light up IF i hit the turn signal.
Also, yesterday i could get the turn signals to work if i kept hitting the switch up and down (like warming it up?) and then the sides would work, but only for a short time.

All my other lights worked fine.

Today, i drove it and only the hazards go on if the hazard button is down and i hit a turn signal.

Please help me, im pretty clueless!
I dont think its just the switch because the hazards dont work by themselves.
I checked the fuse in the driver's kick panel even though the lights do light up, but its fine.

I suppose ill just have to suck it up and try my luck with the FSM, though i can never figure those things out.

Its probably the switch. I had a similiar prob. My tails and dash lights would not turn on. Then one headlight did not turn on. If i played with it enough moving in all directions I could get it to work. I changed the switch assembly out for a different on and it all worked. Or I know there is a write up on here somewhere of someone cleaning one out. search for that if you do not want to buy a new one.

replace flasher if that doesnt work replace switch. first the hazzard then the turn switch.
check all bulbs and fuses

Test the flasher relay as per the FSM. Hook the relay up to power, ground, and a light bulb then ground. See the FSM for pin location.

Unplug the combo light switch turn signal harness. Use a continuity tester and test for continuity between pins 1 and 2, and 1 and 3 when the turn signal is activated. Check with the FSM for specific pin locations.

I suspect a bad ground wire for the flasher relay.

hmm.... honestly sounds like a bad hazard switch to me... but the flasher is a possibility too. If you need a new flasher, the local parts store should have it for like $10.... nissan sells em for $40. I have one from a local parts store in my car...

Flasher is more than likely the culprit.

Thanks for the replies guys.

Ill check the flasher and the turn signal switch/hazard switch.

Ok, thanks for all the replies.

I dont think its the hazard switch because the lights still come on when i push the hazards and turn signal (from what ive read a bad hazard switch will prevent you from turning on turn signals at all).

I tested the connector before the relay, and am pretty sure the relay is bad.
I used an ohmmeter to measure resistance between ground and one wire, then ground and the other wire.
Resistance went up when i would hit the turn signals (middle wire).
Resistance went up when i hit the hazards (farthest from ground wire).

Ill be picking up a new flasher relay tomorrow hopefully, and ill update then.

I don't know what you're doing. Is this with the ignition on or off? Don't do this because you can blow the fuse in your ohmmeter. Use a test light, or unplug the battery.

I still don't see how testing the relay connector can lead you to conclude that you have a bad relay. You have to test the relay itself.

Hmm, well the flasher didnt cost much so i figured ill just replace it.

I also cleaned the switch, but nothing changed.

I guess ill have to switch turn signals with one of my friends that has an s14 and see if thats the problem.

OK, problem solved.

Turns out the problem was im retarded.

The hazard switch was loose. I just figured that since the hazards did come on, the switch was still good. I figured id try and clean it, so i popped off the trim, and lo and behold the harness is barely hanging on.
Pop it back in, test the lights, slap myself on the forehead.

Thanks for all the help though! You guys are great.

Also, for the reverse, whoever did the clutch plugged the reverse sensor into the 5th position sensor..
