as West said, we have 10 bars coming over right now that will be available to ship out by end of Dec. _and from the post in the for sales forum here is the 1st 10 people that has expressed interest in these bars and will get first shot at getting in:

 But I just bought my 96 240sx and I need to convert it to 97 headlight first.
  Is a Tension rod the same as strut bar? If not count me out, b/c I can't afford to go for speed right now, I really want to get the s14b look, and then move on to speed.

Both of those are suspension components.  They improve handling.  They arent a "go fast" mod.  A sturt tower brace connects the strut towers to help in the movement of that huge gap in your car aka the engine bay.  Im not sure what the tension rod bar does but from reading i figure it connects the tension rods (in front) to reduce flex in the car.

from what i have heard it makes front chassis stiffer and is significant improvement over stock.  although i wont be able to comment too much on the effectiveness simply cuz i havent had a chance to use one!!  but i'm sure one of the 1st 10 that gets it will be slapping that bad boy in IMMEDIATELY so i'm looking forward to a review from them too  <img src="#/f/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/cool.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':cool:'>

would this bar work in conjunction with the nismo power brace/bar? i've seen pics of this cusco tie rod bar and the nismo one and they look like they wont work together because the tie rods are goin to be either connected to the nismo or to this bar..

tRaNCeRBoi408, i dont think you nderstand how this one works, it connects the tc bolt ends together. the nismo power bar still has the same bolt locations for the tc rod bolting location.what you do is unbolt and drop your TC rod (nearest to front of car-pull bolt out) then put this bar there and push the bolt thru this cusco piecie and bolt up the other side..bammo. done. i'll scan apic of the Kazama on tonight, i have it in a magazine article...i hope we can do a group buy on another Kazama part (tie rod ends-better for steering).

tie rod i believe is part of the steering system..like JIC hard tie rods and tie rod ends

this is the TC rod..tension control rod...connects to the LCA. this part connect the TC rods together (more stability in front). i'm looking forward to little body roll in the front w/ the sways, 8 kg springs and this...should be nice..now i just to buy the JIC STB one day....hmm

hey Dousan any idea if that skid plate is a Kazamma piece too?  I want just about everything on that page!  already have the TC rods though, made my own subframe spacers, and Im in on the next group buy on the brace.  <img src="#/f/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':)'>  but I want the adjustable arms for the rear and the tie rod ends.  I'm gonna eliminate as many rubber bushings as I can on the suspension

first off, good news, the cusco tension bars are on sched and expected to be starting to be delivered around 1st-2nd week of jan :cool:

kazama/NAMS stuff i am still looking into but the kazama is not looking good......they are not willing to offer ANY sort of volume deals :mad: trying to maybe find some other alternative companies that make the same thing now, i'll keep you guys informed!!

Is the premium justified? Probably not since they (Cusco) are at most 1-2mm thicker & the Whitelines are also aluminum (?). They are both proven products but if the price is right, why not...

sounds good. i'm holding out for Largus though. beeeefy. i'll get the specs on lunch. my car is littered w/ car mags haha... all i know if you (or anyone) goes whiteline, use the stock endlinks for the front. most japanese sways use stock endlinks for good reason. they are VERY well designed.

Id be intrested in some JIC (or cusco for that matter too) TC Rods and Tie Rods, depending on the price of each, I would definately be willing to get at least one (considering both my tc rods and tie rods are dead).

Edit: I just realized how bad I want the Cusco rear STB and Triangle piece. If you could get a gb on that I would DEFINATELY be intrested.

Not sure if Leo has sent out an email or been here in awhile but I got an email from another GB from him a few days ago. He is in Japan right now or somewhere else and should be back on the 20th IIRC. The container is in LA and is awaiting customs aproval.

Just didnt want anyone to worry about the GB or Leo f'n us over, he is a badass guy so expect to hear from him soon.

hey guys!! just got back from my vacation :D

i got word today the container is "hopefully" clearing this fri or mon so keep your fingers crossed!!!

as for the next batch of the GB, i will start that up after the 1st batch ships out. so everyone on the list for the 2nd buy will get an email soon.

and some good news on kazama; i found out one of my suppliers can get their products so i maybe to offer a GB on them :) i'll keep u guys posted on that one. from what i understand this is a list of parts ppl are interested in:

- rear arm set (not sure if u want the rods or both??)
- pillow tension rod
- super tie rod end

hopefully i'll have an answer for this by early next week.

finally, as for the 2nd GB i am considering doing some sort of air mail service for shipping so to avoid all these current dilemnas with ocean frieght. i wont know for sure until i get these 1st batch out (have to see box dimensions and weight to see whehter its viable or not; if its the same size as the kazama ones which is only about a 12x12x4 box then its easily doable). but if it is then it would be like a 2 week shipping service, the GB price may go up by 10 bux or so, but at least the wait wont be like this!!

please offer your suggestions if you guys have any :)

hrmm nice, I like the looks of those.

Anyone know anything about Kazama? I have not really hear much about them. Just wondering where they rank quality wise.

as for quality from what I've heard Kazama is really good quality, those upper rear arms look to be an exact copy of the cusco units.

i think dousan can more comment on their quality as he was the one that originally talked of the kazama parts, but i did get to see one of their tension rods while i was out in japan and the quality of that piece is at least on par with the cusco one if not better. i would assume the rest of their suspension pieces are just as good!!

BTW sorry for the newB question but which is the t/c rod :confused:

as for price wise, i will compare with the cusco and post up prices for both and u guys decide which way you want to go (for those that has identical cusco pieces that is)

also called the Pillow Tension Control Rod in the pictures above. :) caster adjustment for the front and improved steering response switching to a pillowball from the stock ruubber goo filled bushing

another update!!

just got official word today that the 1st batch of 10 is due to arrive monday and should be able to ship out same day :cool: :D

to make things easier we are just gonna do the shipping thing so to avoid any more confusion than need be. i will email everyone tracking info when i recieve it!!

2nd GB will commence sometime next week; i still am sorting out all the shipping options. right now looks to be the best and cheapest way will be to drop ship direct from japan to each individual by express mail and i am waiting to hear back exactly how much shipping will cost. i'll get a better idea by mid week and will notify everyone on the 2nd list by email.

as for the current 10 bars, my guy just picked up the container yesterday and am in the process of breaking it down IE taking stuff out. he says will try to get it all shipped today but most likely will be thur.

yes, here's what he wrote:

Cusco's front tension rod bar (the bar that bolts b/w the front tension rod bolt (that connects to the tension rod bracket) does NOT fit with the Nismo Power Brace. The metal rod that braces the two brackets on the Nismo Power Brace is basically where the Cusco bar would go.... so it's either one or the other, you can't use both.

Oh well! FWIW, I guess...

But the bar fits S13/14/15.

Looking at it I suspect that they wanted the crossbar to join where it is box sectioned and thats about as close as they could get without covering where the tension rods mount.

hmmmmm ok. Next question, which is more effective and a better upgrade, the Power Bar or the Cusco bar.

I was thinking about making my own version of the Power Bar because it is so basic, now I guess I HAVE to make my own to clear the Cusco bar.

Hmmm which would make a better upgrade? I think if your original tension rod brackets are bad (like mine are) I would say that the power bar would be a better choice. People on FA have said that the nismo power bar is more solid, and not full of "holes" as the OEM tension rod brackets are.

I like the cusco bar better because you can adjust it :D

You cannot adjust the Nismo Power Brace. Its more a for reinforcement/support, but will serve the same purpose. The Nismo has molded brackets that bolt onto/over where the Tension Bar mounts to.

The Cusco one will just simply attach to the tension rod bolts. But the Cusco also allows for some adjustability.

Which is better IMO...

Nismo = $180
Cusco = $100

For Reinforcement the Nismo wins by a little.

For Cost, the Cusco by far. Honestly you wont notice the diff between the two. Also I think since the Cusco is adjustable it will give just as good as support as the Nismo.

What do you guys think of it who have installed it? I get mine today and im interested to see how it effects my car since I already have ladder bars + tons of other suspension goodies :)

i got it on and took it for a drive. i thought it made a nice difference, but a second look and i was leaking powersteering fluid LOL :D i dont really notice much because i have whitelines on there. looking to get the energy suspension bushing kit next =P maybe we should have a group buy on them.

I don't know exactly what happens when the T/Cs are pushed out, it surely would effect steering response and turn-in in some (probably minute) way.

I plan to just install it, lower the car (to stretch the chassis out to where it is naturely), then adjust the bar til its just tight then give it just a little more.

Just the installation of this will probably change your alignment slightly (probably not enough to notice, unless to push out the T/Cs alot) so you may want to get a alignment before too long.

This piece shouldn't interfere with the front ladder bar. I believe the front ladder bar is located just about where the engine and tranny meet and this bar goes between the T/C rod mounting points. As far as this or Nismo its probably about the same either way, the Nismo probably has a slight advantage because it replaces the tension rod brackets with a stonger boxed design that should tighten end the front of the frame a little more than this bar will. And since the Nismo PowerBrace and this Tension bar cannot be used togeather i plan on fabbing up my own version of the Nismo piece that will clear the Cusco bar.

As I understand it, this is similar to the Nismo Power Brace. This and the power brace cannot be used on the same car (at the same time), though. The power brace apparently gets in the way of the tension rod bar.

I was wondering though, if the supplier could get any other cusco parts... or even Do-Luck bars. I'd definitely be interested in a RXB (rear cross bar) and RLB (rear ladder bar) if you could get them. :)

a few notes for you guys:

the tie rod endlinks
they are for playing w/ the car's toe, not for setting it to stock haha..

you will have a MUCH MORE uncomfortable ride as well as MORE bumpsteer if you already have some.

there is no bushing, only pillowball so dont expect a smooth ride at all.

it will be more responsive steering which is great for track but may not be for street (depending on how your car is setup)

just want to make sure people arent buying stuff just because its JDM or because its something to upgrade.

be a smart shopper.
