This is my first year in college and my car sits around. I drive it only on the weekends. One weekend I'll go 5 miles for groceries, then the next weekend I'll go about 300 miles roundtrip to my home.

Well, it's getting cold and I am worried. What should I do as my car is "hibernating" out in the open for a week at a time?
I already killed my starter and I had my last tuneup 15,000miles ago.

Any tips? What about general "winterizing?"

Well, if your up for it, you could take the battery out and store it in a warm place whenever your not driving.

Another thing I would recommend is switching to 5w30 oil and pouring in a bottle of gas-line anti-freeze.

Other then that you should get her underbody oil-sprayed and just be careful in the snow. Or you could just do what I did, store your car for the winter. <img src="http://www.zilvia.net/f/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/wink.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=';)'>

Hope this helped some.

EDIT: Oh yeah, and check your anti-freeze boyancy for freezing point level.
